Getting Started with Spot
Please contact [email protected] for any questions or feedback. We are here to help enable robot automation for your projects.
By the end of this tutorial you should have Spot connected to the Robotics Automation Portal ready for our team to configure.
Pre-requisites:
- Followed the Boston Dynamics Guides on Getting Started with Spot
- Create a DroneDeploy Project with a Coordinate Reference System - CRS
- Create a Robotics Automate Project
It's a good idea to set up Spot in a lab environment, replicating as much of the network and set up that Spot will use on-site.
Getting Spot Connected to DroneDeploy Automate
Navigate to you're DroneDeploy Automate Platform project and add a new robot.
Create a new Robot and Download the SPX Extension File for installing on Spot.
Taking Spot On-Site
Make sure you are on the same network as Spot. See Spot's networking documenation here: Boston Dynamics - Spot Networking
Site preperation
- Set up site fiducials.
- Conduct an optional 3D site scan.
- Mark up a floor plan of fiducial locations.
